BCCS is Seeking a Temporary, Part-Time Psychiatric / Family Practice Nurse Practitioner for our Lancaster Avenue location!

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at BCCS, you will:- Conducts admission examinations, diagnostic interviews,and physical examinations;provides medical and psychiatric treatment when needed
- Provide health education toclients,families,and staffwithintheir areaof specialty
- Participates incaseconferences with clients,families, and/or BCCS staff concerning results and recommendations
- Provides emergency/crisis intervention.
Responds to urgent or emergency situations in a way that minimizes trauma to the client and staff members and results in stabilization - Responsible forclear and detailed documentation of all encounters.
Documentation may include background information, behavioral observations, interpretation of test findings, recommendations for treatment, and other findings - Reviews data from client cases and provides information andrecommendations
- Conducts joint client sessions/interventions
- Monitor sand adjusts client psychotropic medications and other medications, including opioid agonists and antagonists, medications for alcohol use disorders,etc., when necessary
- Administers therapy, including medication/drug therapies,in accordance withthe treatment plan
- Makes psychiatric service recommendations to the Medical Director
- Ability to assess psychiatric health
- Is proficient in the treatment of substance use disorders, includingalcohol.
Proficient in the management and treatment of opioid usedisorderwith both agonist and antagonist medications. - Dual diagnoses(substance use disorder / mental health)
- Knowledge of prescribed medications and their effectiveness in treating the client's condition
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of clients in a diverse community
- Ability to prescribe Suboxone preferred. Willingness to pursue an X number if not currently able to prescribe
- Advanced degree in Nursing with 1-3 years’ experience, ideally in an OTP/Medically Assisted Treatment setting preferred
- Licensed by the State of Delaware as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Hours:
- 5:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- 3 days on site – Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday
This is a temporary, part-time position and does not offer medical, dental, or vision benefits. The duration of this temporary position will be May 2026 – October 2026
