About You And This Role

We are seeking candidates for exciting and rewarding Process Technician Apprenticeship opportunities at our facility in Wilmington, DE within the U.S. Apprenticeship Program
. As part of the program, Apprentices participate in a 2-3 year experience with hands-on work in chemical plants while attending community college to earn a company-paid Associate’s degree. The program offers paid tuition, wages and some benefits. Upon completion, Apprentices earn an Associate’s Degree in one of several technical disciplines and may be considered for full-time opportunities within Dow. Apprentices will report to an Apprenticeship Program Leader who supports the Apprentice throughout the program.

Applicants selected may be offered an agreement to work for Dow for 2 years upon transitioning to a full-time position.

The hourly rate for this role will be at least $21.69. The exact pay rate will be communicated if you are offered employment. Pay rate is set by the Company and is non-negotiable.

Expected hire date for these opportunities is June 8, 2026, with a latest possible start around August 3, 2026.

Responsibilities

Process Technician — Process Technicians operate equipment in assigned areas of the plant and perform operations per the work process, using chemical manufacturing knowledge to operate and troubleshoot the plant safely and efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities And Key Skills
  • Routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures, flow rates and product transfer.
  • Controlling, monitoring and adjustment of all control systems and manually operated equipment.
  • Properly lifting hoses, bolting flanges and operating valves, including equipment isolation and clearance.
  • Following operating discipline, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Troubleshoot process, product quality, safety and environmental issues; identify equipment requiring maintenance.
  • Perform maintenance and project work safely and efficiently.
  • Clearing and tagging equipment as required and issuing Safe Work Permits for maintenance and project work.
  • Performing all duties with a high dedication to safety and environmental stewardship.
Qualifications Educational Requirements
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Individuals in high school, college, or who recently graduated within the last two years must provide official transcripts/GED scores prior to onsite interview.
  • Must have completed Algebra or Technical Math and Science coursework in High School;
    Chemistry and/or Physics coursework is preferred.
  • After an offer of employment, must complete college entrance exams/assessments at the community college; no remedial coursework required.
  • If enrolled in the degree program or with transferable credits, must have at least 2 full semesters remaining toward the applicable degree.
  • Preferred educational qualification: minimum GPA of 2.500/4.000 if currently enrolled or if graduated/GED within the last 2 years.
Additional Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older on or before start date.
  • Must have a current, valid US driver’s license or the ability to obtain before start date. A Motor Vehicle Records check will verify the license status before clearance to report to work.
  • Ability to work all applicable shifts on a rotating basis (including weekends and holidays) and overtime when needed.
  • Must be able to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship is available for this position.
