Position: SR Snowflake developer with Azure Databricks

Location: Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE

Experience Level: 8–12 years

The Sr. Developer role is pivotal in driving the development and optimization of data solutions using Snowflake Python Databricks SQL Databricks Workflows and PySpark. With a hybrid work model the candidate will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance data‑driven decision‑making processes ensuring efficient and scalable solutions that align with business objectives.

• Develop and implement robust data solutions using Python to streamline data processing and analysis.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and optimize Databricks SQL queries for efficient data retrieval.
• Utilize Databricks Workflows to automate data pipelines ensuring seamless integration and execution.
• Leverage PySpark to enhance data transformation processes improving performance and scalability.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of data solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance in the adoption of best practices for data management and analytics.
• Analyze complex data sets to identify trends and insights that drive business decisions.
• Optimize existing data workflows to improve efficiency and reduce processing time.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data solutions and workflows for future reference and training.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in data technologies and incorporate them into solutions.
• Contributes to the continuous improvement of data processes and methodologies.

• Possess strong proficiency in Python programming for data analysis and solution development.
• Demonstrate expertise in Databricks SQL for efficient data querying and retrieval.
• Have hands‑on experience with Databricks Workflows for automating data pipelines.
• Show proficiency in PySpark for enhancing data transformation processes.
• Exhibit excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Have a minimum of 6 years of experience in data development and analytics.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

The annual salary for this position is between $125,000 - $135,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
