our client is currently seeking a qualified field service technician to join their team in wilmington, de and provide end‑user support. The technician will provide on‑site it and technical support to approximately 5 to 7 stores within a regional coverage area. Daily travel between locations will be required.
duties and responsibilities- provide on‑site technical support for retail store it infrastructure
- install, configure, and troubleshoot pos systems, desktops, laptops, printers, and thin clients
- support network equipment including switches, routers, and wireless access points
- diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network‑related issues
- replace and configure peripheral devices (scanners, label printers, pin pads)
- maintain accurate documentation of service activity and close tickets daily
- coordinate with remote support teams when escalation is required
- ensure all work is completed within sla requirements
- deliver strong customer service while working independently in retail environments
- minimum 2+ years of field service or desktop support experience
- experience supporting pos systems in a retail environment preferred
- knowledge of networking fundamentals (ip addressing, connectivity troubleshooting)
- experience with structured cabling (cat5e/cat6)
- ability to work independently and manage daily travel schedule
- strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- excellent customer service and communication skills
- must have a valid driver's license
- ability to lift up to 25 to 35 lbs. And work in retail backroom environments
the rate for this position is between $18.00 - $23.50 per hour
, unless local minimum wage is higher. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
