Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our outpatient therapy services team in Wilmington, Delaware
Work schedule:
Full-Time, 32 hours per week (may have a weekend requirement)

Provides physical therapy evaluations, interventions and patient/family education. Will establish and maintain appropriate documentation and communication with medical and clinical staff and outside agencies within the guidelines designated by state licensure, the department and Delaware Valley policies and procedures. Actively participates in departmental education activities in order to expand knowledge of patient populations and evidence-based practice.
Demonstrates proficiency in the care of all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, and adults.
Able to provide physical therapy services to a variety of patient types with recognition of his/her own limitations while seeking appropriate mentorship as needed.
Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy #7980.3.3, Joint Commission, and CARF standards.
Attends meetings related to patient treatment and contributes to discussion as an interdisciplinary team member.
Consults with other services, families, and outside agencies to recommend durable medical equipment, home/school modifications and transitional therapy program prior to discharge from therapy.
Maintains knowledge of and familiarity with insurance referral/authorization process and documentation requirements related to therapy services.
Completes all mandatory training; may include, but not limited to safety, infection control, corporate compliance, HIPAA, bioterrorism, CPR and program specific respiratory training.
Participates in triage and coverage planning as necessary to meet patient care and departmental needs.
When required by assignment, participates in weekend/holiday inpatient coverage rotation, including checking the code blue cart per guideline #7980.GL.24.
Teamwork:
Participates in conflict identification and resolution. Works cooperatively on multidisciplinary, single discipline, program specific and specialty teams. Assists in maintenance of department space and equipment.Professional Development:
Independently seeks to expand clinical knowledge and evidenced-based practice through literature reviews, in services, courses and mentorships. May provide input on new treatment intervention strategies to ensure evidenced-based and current practices.
Job Requirements
Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy or its equivalent from an CAPTE accredited university required. Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is entry-level.
Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months experience required. New graduates will be considered based on educational experiences.
State of Delaware Physical Therapist License or provisional/temporary license required upon hire.
All clinical staff are required to hold a second license, PA or NJ (in addition to DE license). Must submit license or proof of application submission within 2 weeks of job acceptance, but this second license is not required to be active at the start of employment.
Pennsylvania clearances are required upon hire for those with a Pennsylvania license.
American Heart Association BLS certification required within 6 months of date of hire and must be maintained for duration of employment.
Member of professional specialty organizations (APTA, state PT association) preferred.
Pediatric experience is preferred.
