About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President, Risk Management to provide strategic leadership in enterprise risk management, clinical risk mitigation, claims management, and the organization's insurance portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating legal, operational, and clinical expertise to reduce exposure, protect organizational assets, and foster a culture of safety and high-quality care delivery. This executive will lead a sophisticated, integrated risk function and will be instrumental in shaping the future of enterprise risk for the organization.

The role involves close partnership with senior executives, clinical and operational leaders, outside counsel, brokers, and claims consultants. Applicants for the Vice President, Risk Management position at the company must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and a minimum of 10 years of legal experience in healthcare, with a focus on litigation and risk management. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in leading multi-disciplinary teams, managing external counsel, and a deep knowledge of healthcare liability, insurance, and enterprise risk management.

Experience in an integrated health system or academic medical center is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader, capable of influencing systemwide priorities, and will be deeply committed to the values of integrity, compassion, excellence, and equity in the healthcare sector.
