Nemours is seeking a Research Program Manager. The Research Program manager will administratively oversee and work with the program leader(s) and research administration to help the research program achieve goals and organize activities within the Delaware Valley Department of Pediatrics (DOP) and with collaborators. The Program Manager provides leadership, management, financial oversight, and is responsible for the operations of multiple programs/units within the designated research center or program.

Works with scientific and administrative leadership in development of strategic plans, budgets, and unit staffing. Implements and improves operational practices and procedures within the program and helps develop a program plan to guide and plan programmatic growth. Incumbent will work with program investigators to help them meet targets and milestones (ex. Ensure timely and accurate submission to the IRB, sponsors, and master agreements).

Responsible for developing and assembling project plans, teams and work assignments, creating and monitoring various administrative and financial reports. Serve as a liaison and facilitate interactions with various ancillary departments, stakeholders, and research leadership while developing and maintaining documentation related to projects, initiatives, SOPs as needed, and assist in process improvements as well as quality assurance. Works with Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA), Research Finance, IRB, IBC, IACUC, Accounting, and Research administration to help manage and oversee program activities.

Ensures high quality implementing and maintaining a quality management program and program metrics.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and financial oversight of the DOP by directing and managing the activities of the assigned program (s) having responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods, and associates.
  • Manage Labor Distributions Schedules for staff within assigned programs
  • Serve as a liaison to SPA and Research Finance in preparing grant budgets, renewals, and the submission of research grants. Work with SPA to assure prompt and accurate accounting related to funded projects and submissions in ITP and RSP.
  • Serves as the liaison for execution of legal contracts and agreements with Research Administration.
  • Identify potential grant opportunities and support development of proposals.
  • Provide financial and administrative regulatory oversight for grants, other sponsored awards, and other budgetary items if/when applicable for all Center research activities and support center personnel in facilitating research.
  • Develop administrative/operational systems to streamline project development and administration and work to ensure the growth of the Center.

Maintain the center or lab website and social media presence, including regular updates and enhancements and assure that the Center’s technology remains current, evaluating programs and platforms and monitoring appropriateness and use.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of related experience required

Bachelor’s degree in business/management/operations or health-related field, such as nursing, psychology, social work, public health or science related.

Administrative experience with federal research grants and clinical research preferred.
