Job Purpose
The Company seeks a highly motivated, self‑starter for a challenging career with a fast‑growing specialty pharmacy management services company. We desire experienced pharmacy technicians registered with the state of employment. Nationally certified as a CPhT is preferred but not required. The candidate must work independently and establish strong relationships with patients, clinicians, and internal Shields staff. The role demands a results‑oriented, positive outlook, strong administrative and organizational skills, empathic communication, and the ability to serve as a member of a close‑knit team.
Key responsibilities include providing integrated support to patients and pharmacists, delivering medication adherence support, and ensuring seamless integration with clinic teams.
- Provide legendary care to hospital patients by offering a full suite of custom medication management services.
- Work seamlessly alongside hospital clinicians to serve patients face‑to‑face and over the phone.
- Educate prospective pharmacy patients on how the hospital serves patients and improves their overall care.
- Support outpatient retail and specialty prescription medication needs.
- Grow the specialty pharmacy patient population.
- Ensure that patients remain on track with medication regimens, including outbound therapy/medication adherence check‑ups, and secure refill prescriptions.
- Communicate effectively with the centralized Patient Service Center regarding refill reports, zero‑fill reports, monthly outstanding reports and appointment lists.
- Help develop new processes to ensure smooth operations and patient care.
- Identify medications requiring special storage and/or handling such as hazardous or refrigerated medication.
- Identify supplies needed for select medications such as sharps containers, needles/syringes, alcohol swabs, Band‑Aids.
- Answer, resolve and triage inbound inquiries.
- Perform refill reminder calls under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Resolve insurance‑related issues, including prior authorizations (PAs), and assist patients with financial assistance forms.
- Ensure appropriate documentation in all required systems and tracking mechanisms.
- Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications.
- Apply observations and recommendations to operational issues, increasing productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards.
- Identify trends, resolve problems, recommend improvements, and implement change.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Act as a value‑added business partner to stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Willing to do whatever is necessary for the betterment of the Company.

Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment; strong verbal and written communication; highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; quick learner of other software and able to extract relevant information; strong organizational and administrative skills.

Experience & EducationRequired Licensure/Certification: State‑registered pharmacy technician. Nationally certified as a CPhT or equivalent is strongly preferred but not required. If additional licensure is required, the applicant will commit to obtaining it within a mutually agreed timeframe. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements.
