Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Home Health Aides perform duties as outlined in the Client’s Plan of Care, including:
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment
- Obtaining temperature, pulse, blood pressure and respiration
- Bed, sponge, tub, or shower bathing
- Caring for nails and skin
- Oral hygiene
- Assisting with toileting and elimination
- Preparing and assisting with meals
- Light housekeeping
- Assisting with prescribed exercises
- Compassionate and caring attitude
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to follow and carryout written instructions
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Ability to work as a team member
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide (CHHA).
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a home health aide, personal care aide, or in a related caregiving role is preferred.
- Experience working with elderly, disabled, or chronically ill patients is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and their families.
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions from health care professionals.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to work with patients of diverse backgrounds and health conditions.
- Basic understanding of health care and safety standards.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including assisting with patient mobility and lifting as needed.
