Position: Part Time Admissions Coordinator-30hrs/wk
POSITION: Admissions Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Healthcare
STATUS: Part-Time
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday; 6 hours per day; 30 hours per week
WAGE: $20.00 per hour-$25.00 per hour
GENERAL
SUMMARY:The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the management of the Health Center admissions process and for establishing and maintaining open, effective communication between the community and referral sources, physicians, and third party payers. This includes direct contact with medical and business professionals in the surrounding area in order to generate referral activity and soliciting direct referrals from these sources.
PRINCIPLE
DUTIES:
Responsible for supporting the Director of Admissions & Social Services with meeting the heath center’s sales and occupancy levels in accordance with the strategic marketing plan. Results will be achieved through strategic networking with area professionals, including but not limited to: presentations at the community, health center tours, follow-up telephone calls and appointments to keep the professionals informed.Obtains referrals from hospital social workers, physicians, or family members keeping wait lists current.Creates new and services existing relationships with professional referral sources. Including telephone contact, health center tours, and in-office visits at the professional’s office, etc. All contact with the professional referral sources is accurately documented.Conducts admission interviews with the resident and/or responsible party, obtaining all required financial data, signatures, pertinent social information and medical information, attending physician information, and other pertinent and required documentation prior to admission.Assists with completing Health Center admission agreements with new resident admissions and/or responsible party.Reviews all admission related paperwork with the resident and or/responsible party including Medicare Part A coverage and-coverage procedures. Maintains all non-medical record related paperwork in an admissions file for each resident.Performs meet and greets and room orientation to include the presentation of a Welcome Gift.Assists with maintaining the Inquiry Log (exp. Salesforce) on a daily basis to ensure completion and accuracy.Maintains Life Care resident statistics, permanent assignments, temporary assignments, and notifies resident and/or the responsible party of permanent and temporary status in the Health Center.Helps coordinate utilization review for new admissions covered by Medicare Part
A.Maintains complete confidentiality regarding admission information and resident records.Assists in coordinating admissions/transfers/discharges with other departments.Ensures that the resident, family, and responsible person are fully informed of the resident’s personal and property rights.HOSPITALITY FOCUS:
