Position Description

The Unit Clerk will maintain medical records on the units, schedule transports & assist the nursing staff with all clerical duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet, direct, and assist visitors to resident rooms, office areas, etc.
  • Retrieve medical record information upon request by authorized individuals.
  • Record appropriate resident identification data in designated medical records.
  • Keep nursing staff informed of resident scheduled appointments.
  • Scan and file admission papers and all diagnostic reports into the medical record.
  • Schedule resident follow‑up appointments and arrange transportation for diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  • Must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work with elders in a community or long‑term care setting is preferred.
  • Must possess excellent computer skills.
