Peer Engagement Specialist for our Hep-C Program – Lancaster Avenue.

Since 1985, BCCS has been a trusted provider of substance abuse and behavioral health treatment. We pride ourselves on helping community members recover with dignity. Our services include education, advocacy, prevention, early intervention, and treatment.

What You’ll Do
  • Work with discharged clients in the community and carry a case load of active clients.
  • Re‑engage individuals absent from care and provide engagement services to address barriers to participation.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff and clients.
  • Provide a positive role model for clients to emulate.
  • Conduct workshops and seminars.
  • Conduct non‑clinical life‑skill groups (e.g., health & wellness, self‑help, budgeting).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community referral sources for in‑reach and aftercare planning.
  • Conduct presentations on designated topics and prevention in the community as directed by the Program Supervisor.
  • Develop and conduct client/family/community educational sessions.
  • Provide educational materials on specific topics for the Hep‑C Elimination contract.
  • Conduct Hep‑C training and coordinate prevention services.
  • Provide specialized discharge and aftercare services and conduct scheduled follow‑ups.
Schedule
  • Monday – Friday
  • 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license with 2 points or less.
  • Must identify as a peer (in recovery from addiction to drugs, alcohol, or mental health).
  • Minimum of 2 years in recovery.
  • 1–3 years experience working with people in recovery.
  • CPRS certification preferred. If not certified, certification required within first year of employment.
Compensation
  • Starting at $18/hour; commensurate with experience, education, and certification.
