Senior Relationship Manager, Commercial Banking

Lewis James Professional is a woman-owned staff augmentation, project consulting and direct hire search and placement firm. We are currently seeking a Senior Relationship Manager, Commercial Banking for a direct hire opportunity with a financial services client.

• Develop and manage new and existing client relationships to meet lending, deposit, and financial service needs.
• Identify opportunities, negotiate terms, manage underwriting, documentation, and closing processes.
• Serve as primary contact, provide ongoing counsel, and conduct annual relationship reviews to align banking solutions with client goals.
• Maintain deep knowledge of clients’ businesses, industries, market trends, and commercial banking products.
• Build and sustain strategic partnerships, participate in community events, and promote the bank’s image.
• Achieve sales goals while maintaining credit quality and risk management standards.
• Oversee credit analysis, structuring, monitoring, and resolution of problem loans.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and bank policies
• Address documentation and exception items promptly.
• Mentor and support less experienced bankers.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience.
• 9+ years in commercial credit/banking; credit training preferred.
• 4+ years managing large, complex client portfolios.
• Expertise in diverse industries, markets, and financial concepts.
• Proven track record in acquiring, retaining, and growing business relationships.
• Strong leadership, strategic initiative, and cross-functional team management skills.
• Advanced financial analysis, credit, and risk management expertise.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to balance client needs with risk and company interests.
