The Senior EHS Engineer is a key technical role supporting environmental compliance and broader EHS programs at Sun Chemical’s Newport, DE site. This position’s primary focus is assisting in the administration and maintenance of environmental permits and regulatory compliance programs across all media (air, water, waste, and chemical reporting). The role operates independently in routine compliance activities but works under guidance of the EHS Team Leader for permitting strategy, regulatory interpretation, and agency interface.

This is a hands‑on, field‑engaged role supporting environmental compliance systems within a manufacturing environment. Following the establishment of foundational environmental competencies, the role expands to support site Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

• B.S. Degree in Engineering; degree in related sciences may be considered
• 10+ years of combined experience in environmental and health & safety
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment; chemical manufacturing preferred
• Experience with environmental permitting and compliance programming
• Strong technical and organizational skills
• Effective communication and cross‑functional collaboration
