RK&K Construction Management Team is currently hiring an Electrical Inspector to support construction, rehabilitation, and upgrade projects at water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role is responsible for inspecting electrical installations to ensure compliance with contract documents, safety standards, and applicable electrical codes.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with industrial electrical systems, particularly within water or wastewater treatment environments. RK&K also hires those with related experiences such as contractors, military, and surveyor experience.
Essential Functions- Inspect electrical work for water and wastewater treatment plant projects, including:
- Power distribution systems
- Motor control centers (MCCs)
- Variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Pumps, blowers, and process equipment
- Instrumentation and control systems (SCADA interface coordination)
- Verify compliance with:
- NEC, NFPA, OSHA requirements
- Project plans, specifications, and shop drawings
- Document daily inspection activities, deficiencies, and corrective actions
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, plant staff, and project managers
- Witness testing, startup, and commissioning activities
- Identify safety issues and ensure safe work practices are followed on‑site
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3+ years of electrical inspection or industrial electrical experience
- Experience in water or wastewater treatment facilities is strongly preferred
- Thorough knowledge of:
- National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Industrial electrical systems and controls
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Electrical Inspector Certification (ICC or equivalent)
- Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master)
- NICET Certification (Electrical or related field)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
