As an Associate Project Manager you will coordinate all aspects of projects with stakeholders to ensure successful completion within established quality, budget, time, operational, and safety parameters. This full‑time position is located in downtown Wilmington, DE, and reports to the on‑site Senior Project Manager with a dotted‑line responsibility to the Director of Corporate Projects Lead.
Responsibilities- Interfacing with users to define project requirements and establish project work plans and deadlines
- Creating persuasive presentations that meet project objectives
- Representing the client with architects, engineers, vendors, consultants, and regulatory agencies
- Participating in design meetings and providing continuous input to optimize design
- Assisting in developing the Design Delivery Schedule with client and design‑build team
- Developing comprehensive scope‑of‑work and contract document deliverables list for each discipline
- Negotiating scope‑of‑work, deliverables, and price with consulting firms
- Determining the need for additional consultants or disciplines
- Collaborating on new design issues and research projects with the team
- Evaluating and motivating designers toward continued growth and leading design solutions
- Developing and maintaining successful user relations and ensuring smooth integration and delivery of projects; setting and holding accountability for project deadlines
- Performing inspections of job‑site conditions and project progress as required, including after‑hours and weekends if necessary
- Comprehending, analyzing, and interpreting complex design documents
- Making effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, users, top management, and public groups
- Motivating and negotiating effectively with employees and client groups to take desired action
- Taking initiative and making decisions with in‑depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve complex results
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a related service field
- Professional degree in Planning & Design, Engineering, or Architecture is a plus
- 5+ years of experience providing design and construction‑related services (facilities management, architecture, engineering, etc.) in public and commercial sectors preferred
- Familiarity with Public Design Commission review process and authorities having jurisdiction
- Located within daily commutable distance to downtown Wilmington, DE
