Position

Description:

We are seeking a part-time, in-person
High School Math Tutor to provide 1:1 or group tutoring instruction during day-time hours and/or evening hours.

Various locations across New Castle County
Type:
Part-time
Schedule:

Flexible;
We are looking for a tutor who can support for less than 10 hours a week between 8AM - 3PM and/or 3:30PM - 7:30PM, depending on your availability
Travel:
Tutor may be traveling to different locations across New Castle County to provide tutoring (for example, in schools or libraries)

What you’ll do:

Provide 1:1 or small group tutoring for instruction in high school math in a school setting or library setting.

Develop tailored lesson plans based on student needs and learning styles

Use creative, hands-on approaches to make the subject engaging and relevant

Maintain accurate documentation of student's sessions and progress

Communicate with parents regularly and student's teacher as needed

Adjust instruction techniques to accommodate students with learning differences

Your qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience with high school-aged students (excluding student teaching) in the topic of Math (like, Geometry, Algebra I & II, Statistics, etc.)

Bachelor’s degree required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches based on student engagement, need, and skill level
Ability to manage student(s) in group setting
Ability to travel to different locations in New Castle County (like schools, libraries, etc.)
