DEFINITION
To provide motorcycle safety education to students through lecture, demonstration, “hands on” driving and testing.
SUPERVISION- Receives direct supervision and/or technical direction from the Defensive Driving Coordinator.
- Exercises no supervision.
- Provide classroom and laboratory instruction to students using Motorcycle Safety Foundation curriculum and handbooks.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
- Maintain and submit all required paperwork in a neat, accurate and timely fashion, including class rosters, registration forms, pay sheets, attendance forms and grade rosters.
- Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures related to required teaching area (Motorcycle Safety Foundation and NC Motorcycle Safety Education Program) and in accordance with CFCC policies and guidelines.
- Assess the relevancy and impact of various lessons and recommend improvements as needed.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Classroom and laboratory instructional techniques and procedures.
- Principles and procedures of academic and instructional techniques.
- Current trends, research and development in the area of assignment.
- Maintain Rider Coach certification in accordance with MSF and NCMSEP by teaching a minimum of three classes per year, attending annual training, and submitting a driving record every two years.
- Obtain CPR Certification prior to teaching first class.
- Interpret and apply College goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain cooperative‑working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Maintain effective audio‑visual discrimination and perception needed for: o Reading and writing
o Handling varied tasks simultaneously
o Making observations
o Communicating with others
o Operating assigned equipment - Maintain physical condition appropriate to performance of assigned duties, including walking, standing or sitting for extended periods, bending and stooping, operating equipment, handling varied tasks simultaneously.
- Maintain mental capacity to make sound decisions, respond to questions, demonstrate intellectual capabilities.

- This position REQUIRES UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS AND/OR TRAINING CERTIFICATIONS be submitted in addition to the application.
- Candidates are required to submit OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS for all degrees obtained prior to first day of work or hire date. If highest level of education is High School diploma or equivalent, proof of completion is required.
- Candidates who have obtained their education outside the US must have their academic degree(s) validated by an accredited evaluation service.
