Lead Dental Nurse
OverviewAs a Lead Dental Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring outstanding patient care while supporting your dentist and leading your team. You will uphold the highest professional standards for both your team and patients, with a strong understanding of Private, NHS, and UDA treatments, and knowledge of GDC and regulatory responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Dental Nurses, including recruitment and compliance responsibilities.
- Manage the training and development of Trainee/Apprentice Dental Nurses, providing guidance during induction and ongoing support.
- Assist the Practice Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the Dental Nursing Team.
- Deliver excellent patient care with clinical freedom to determine the right treatment solutions.
- Foster effective teamwork within the surgery to support dentists and enhance workflow.
- Utilize strong organizational and influencing skills to maintain practice efficiency and deliver quality patient care.
- Ensure compliance with GDC and other regulatory requirements.
- Support practice performance goals by understanding and promoting both Private and NHS treatment options.
- Commit to CPD and continuous professional development.
- Primary
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills; in-depth knowledge of GDC and regulatory responsibilities; excellent organizational, communication, and influencing abilities; comprehensive understanding of NHS, UDA, and Private dental treatments.
- Secondary Skills (Good To Have): Experience supporting practice performance improvement; familiarity with dental compliance systems and reporting tools; previous experience training or mentoring staff.
- Registered Dental Nurse with the General Dental Council (GDC).
- Previous experience in a senior or lead dental nursing position preferred.
