Position: Professional Educator Campus Minister / Theology teacher
Salary: $49,124 - $71,215, depending on years of experience and degrees. Additional stipends for required summer duties.
Requirements: An earned degree in Theology or Ministry
Preferred: High school teaching experience, familiarity with Dominican charism
Position OverviewThe Campus Minister functions in accordance with the policies and procedures of Regina Dominican and is directly accountable to the Principal. The Professional Educator will work within the daily schedule at Regina Dominican; core hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional night and weekend duties are required of this position, including multiple overnights away from home for supervision of student retreats.
Roles and Responsibilities- Teach assigned sections, plan lessons and design performance assessments.
- Supervision of study hall or other area
- Participate in professional development opportunities and department meetings.
- Support school-wide and departmental academic initiatives.
- Participate in Professional Learning Community team meetings weekly, using a collaborative and data-informed protocol to examine evidence of student learning at the highest levels.
- Regularly observe other teachers in order to improve their own practice
- Participate in professional organizations.
- Acquire additional information through courses, workshops, and other growth opportunities; keep up-to-date in professional reading; strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Manifest a positive attitude toward professional responsibilities; reflect a positive image of the school and the teaching profession.
- Work to ensure that the classroom and school cultures are inclusive, respectful, culturally competent, and welcoming to all students and colleagues.
- Support the school mission, philosophy, and educational outcomes.
- Discharge professional responsibilities conscientiously; handle confidential materials in a professional manner.
- Uphold and enforce school rules and administrative regulations.
- Display cooperative, respectful, and positive relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, students and their parents.
- Show sensitivity and flexibility in working with adolescents; is available and approachable.
- Effectively and proactively communicate with students and their parents as necessary relative to the performance of students.
- Respond promptly to requests from Student Services personnel and parents for information about student progress.
- Set, maintain, and encourage high academic standards for students.
- Participate in an ongoing process of developing curricular outcomes, programs, and course syllabi.
- Participate in department meetings, sectional meetings, faculty meetings, and staffings as scheduled.
- Make suggestions for change or improvements through appropriate channels as needed.
- Substitute for colleagues in emergency situations.
- Accept responsibility for co-curricular activities.
- Arrive on time for school, classes, required meetings, and other assigned responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
