Maintenance Assistant

Garden Spring Skilled Nursing Facility is seeking a dependable and skilled Per Diem Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day maintenance and safety of our facility. Garden Spring Skilled Nursing Facility is seeking a dependable and skilled Per Diem Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day maintenance and safety of our facility. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. • Assist with routine maintenance and repairs throughout the facility
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs as assigned
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and urgent repair needs
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, resident rooms, and common areas
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs
• Maintain facility grounds, including light landscaping and snow removal as needed
• Support room set-ups and furniture move for admissions, discharges, and events
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, fire codes, and infection control procedures
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner
• Report safety hazards or repair needs to the Maintenance Supervisor

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous maintenance or handyman experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) a plus
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
