Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Willoughby, Ohio. In this contract position, you will play a vital role in managing payment applications, resolving invoicing issues, and ensuring accurate financial documentation. The ideal candidate will bring strong problem-solving skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a proactive approach to maintaining efficient accounts receivable processes.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately apply and reconcile customer payments on a daily basis, investigating and resolving any discrepancies.

- Generate and distribute invoices and statements while recommending improvements to collection strategies.

- Monitor payment patterns and propose adjustments to credit terms to optimize cash flow.

- Communicate directly with customers to manage and collect overdue accounts with careful attention to detail.

- Support the posting of cash receipts and reconcile accounts receivable to the general ledger.

- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing disputes and ensure invoicing accuracy.

- Conduct credit risk assessments using financial data and credit reports to establish or adjust credit lines.

- Analyze purchasing and payment histories to recommend updates to credit limits.

- Prepare monthly aging reports and maintain accurate customer credit files.

- Assist with additional finance tasks as needed to support department operations. Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent.

- At least 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a related field.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage priorities effectively.

- Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams and customers.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

- Demonstrated accountability and ownership in completing tasks and achieving results.

- Familiarity with accounts receivable processes, cash applications, and billing functions.
