Summary

Responsibilities include inspecting meat, poultry, and egg products; ensuring compliance with Federal Meat, Poultry, and Egg Products Inspection Acts; performing sampling, testing, and field tests; and maintaining plant HACCP and SSOP responsibilities.
RequirementsApplicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements, including specialized experience and/or education. Specialized experience includes knowledge of regulated food commodities and sampling, quality control, and sanitation. For GS-05 level: 52 weeks of qualifying experience. For GS-07 level: 1 year of specialized experience and independent routine assignments. For GS-08 and GS-09 levels: 1 year of specialized experience with basic SSOP and HACCP principles, and mathematical/statistical concepts.
