Summary

As the Controls Manager, you will lead all controls and automation efforts across projects, partnering closely with the PM and Process Engineering teams from design through commissioning. This role oversees the controls team, ensures projects stay on schedule and within budget, and drives standardization and efficiency across programming and integration efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead controls projects from concept through startup and commissioning
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of controls engineers
  • Develop schedules, budgets, and resource plans; monitor progress and performance
  • Specify and subcontract control panels
  • Oversee PLC/HMI programming and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Establish controls standards, reusable code blocks, and best practices
  • Support sales with project estimates
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of Rockwell Studio 5000 experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or associate degree with equivalent experience)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Basic CAD and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Ability to travel 25% (including internationally) and work in industrial environments
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Experience
  • Factory Talk View, AVEVA, Ignition, or other SCADA platforms
  • 6+ years in food processing controls integration
  • Proven leadership and team development experience
  • Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and driven to improve efficiency
