About the Position

The Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Hospital (CABHH) in Willmar, Minnesota offers an opportunity for a skilled and compassionate child and adolescent psychiatrist to provide quality care as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will serve children ages 6 to 18 who are admitted from hospitals and community settings. As the attending psychiatrist, you will provide clinical direction and leadership to a 16‑bed team of APRNs, psychologists, social workers, and allied health professionals, coordinating assessment and treatment collaboratively with psychiatric, primary care, and other mental health practitioners.

As part of the Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) administration, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment Services (MHSATS) division, CABHH is a modern behavioral health hospital that provides hospital‑level care to children with mental illness. The hospital is part of a state psychiatric care network that includes seven other hospitals and a wide range of community‑based resources. Interdisciplinary teams provide care guided by evidence‑based practices and a person‑centered philosophy.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota
  • Board Certified Psychiatrist (or board eligible)
  • Completion of a fellowship program in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
  • This position is open to experienced psychiatrists as well as graduating fellows
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an inpatient child and adolescent psychiatric setting
  • Experience working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

EDUCATION VERIFICATION – Applicants must provide copies of their college transcript or degree at time of interview. Copies of the college degree are acceptable ONLY if they clearly identify the field in which it was earned.

Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) facilities require employees to provide documentation that they are free from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test prior to employment. DCT does not accept TB skin testing.
