Ryder is hiring a Master Level Diesel Technician in Williston, Vermont — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a Technician career you can feel good about.

Compensation
  • Hourly Pay: $41.00 per hour
  • Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus:
    Up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
  • Sign On Bonus: $2,500 at 30 days and $2,500 at 90 days
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, weekends OFF
  • Hours:

    First Shift 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or Technical Certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications (preferred)
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance, diagnostics, advanced repairs (major engine, diesel after‑treatment, fuel injection)
  • Four (4) years or more relevant work experience (preferred)
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
  • All other certifications required by location
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to perform all T3 tasks
  • Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Available for shift work, weekends, and on‑call duty as required
  • Prefer ASE Certification in PM, Brakes, A/C, Electrical, Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic
  • Proficiency in shop computers and diagnostic test equipment
  • Minimum tool requirement
  • Road‑testing vehicles as necessary
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and influence others
  • Mandatory CDL acquisition within 6 months after hire
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Responsibilities
  • Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT
    220)
  • Complete all OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses as required (within 365 days)
  • Complete instructor‑led OEM courses as required to support location fleet mix
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties: standard, preventive, and complex repairs with minimal support
  • Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support, using diagnostic computers/software when applicable
  • Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine best solution for roadside breakdowns
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
  • Instruct and advise other technicians on maintenance, repair procedures, and diagnostics
  • Coach and mentor other level technicians
  • Advise shop management and other technicians on shop repairs
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
  • Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
