Diesel Mid-Level Technician

Position Description

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Williston, Vermont.

• Hourly Pay: $35.50 per hour
• Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly Bonus:
  Up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
• Sign‑On Bonus: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, Weekends Off
• Hours:
  
  Mid Shift 11:30 am – 8:00 pm

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard preventive maintenance and component inspections.
• Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable.
• Identify root cause of failures and perform required repairs or replace defective components.
• Maintain facility equipment and support services such as Service Island support.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
• Utilize key functions of the shop management system and electronic documentation.
• Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).
• Perform other support duties as required to support operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance.
• Two or more years of combined classroom training and work experience preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background/motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification for previous employers over the last 3 years).
