Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Emergency Veterinary Technician to our team. Day, swing and overnight shifts available, rotating weekends required.
Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists (BEVS) is Vermont’s only specialty and 24/7 emergency animal hospital. The Emergency and Critical Care Technician supports the ECC team by providing high‑level urgent, emergent and hospitalized care while working collaboratively with all members of the team. This position is fast paced and every day is different. It is perfect for someone who has a thirst for learning as well as the seasoned technician looking for something different. The Emergency and Critical Care Technician will work between the ER and the ICU, experiencing the rush of an emergency incoming and the gratification of continued care through patient discharge.

$26.00 - $32.00 depending on experience and licensure, with a possible range of $34‑40/hour for licensed VTS techs.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Provide compassionate care to pet patients and their loved ones
- Perform triage and initial interventions in the critical emergent patient
- Conduct basic examinations to assess stability
- Perform advanced nursing skills, including CPR, phlebotomy, cystocentesis, lab tests and medication administration
- Administer and monitor sedated patients for minor procedures and advanced anesthetic skills for emergency surgery
- Perform continued hospitalized care for ICU and isolation patients
- Perform patient discharges and admit patients to the ICU
- Prepare estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients
- Keep accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy
- Prepare and maintain the exam rooms and treatment areas

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) or License (LVT) strongly preferred
- Minimum two years of prior veterinary hospital experience required; prior emergency experience preferred
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
