Responsibility Summary:
Responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of all airport vehicles, equipment, and ground support equipment. Work involves preventative maintenance, diagnostics, emergency repairs, and recordkeeping to ensure compliance with federal, state, and airport requirements.

Essential Job Functions:
Essential responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on all airport vehicles and equipment including:
Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) vehicles, snow removal equipment (plows, blowers, sweepers, sprayers), heavy equipment (loaders, tractors, toolcats), groundskeeping equipment (mowers, small engines, utility vehicles), fleet vehicles (light/medium duty trucks, vans, sedans, SUVs), and airport-owned ground support equipment (deice truck, tugs, belt loaders, etc.). - Perform engine, hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, and drivetrain repairs as required.
- Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and conducts emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain shop tools and equipment in safe, functional condition.
- Develop and perform preventative maintenance schedules for all assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in compliance with regulatory and departmental requirements.
- Order and track parts, materials, and fluids needed for repairs and preventative programs.
- Keep maintenance shops and all work areas clean, safe, and organized.
- Assist maintenance and operations staff during snow removal and emergency events
- Provide input to Maintenance Manager on equipment performance, replacement needs, and technical specifications for new acquisitions.
- Support training of staff on proper equipment operation and care.
- Perform a wide variety of heavy labor and semi-skilled maintenance tasks.
- Communicate effectively with airport administration, airport operations, airport maintenance, contractors, tenants, other officials, and the public.
- Represent the Airport and City of Williston in a professional manner through positive customer interactions.
- Perform all duties in accordance with City of Williston policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Airport Maintenance Manager, Airport Director, or Assistant Airport Director.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma; and satisfactory work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid ND Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or ability to obtain one within 180 days of employment and maintain a motor vehicle record compatible with the City's insurance company's criteria.
- Prior work experience operating and maintaining equipment and vehicles
- Through in-house training or through training arranged by the City of Williston, must be able to become certified in the following areas:
- Acquires all licenses and/or certifications currently required, or as may be required, by regulatory agencies.
- Ability to perform the duties of this classification.
- Prior work experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicle and/or heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and small engine systems.
- Individual must be willing and able to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, & holidays.
- Ability to work in and support a teamwork environment.
- Strong computer skills with ability to effectively utilize programs such as the Microsoft suite with ability to learn new programs introduced in the future.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
