North Dakota TECHNICIAN II ELECTRICAL (Finance) Job Description

The Electrical Technician II will accurately and efficiently perform diversified tasks relating to product assembly, to include box terminations, service loop installation and termination, crimping of all terminations components, calibration of boards or meters, testing of completed assemblies such as control consoles.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma and 3-5 years related work experience.
  • Formal training in Electrical or Electronics is an asset.
  • Language skills:
    Fluent in English, ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Mathematical skills:
    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Reasoning ability:
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to understand basic drawings and bills of material.
  • Computer skills:
    General knowledge of Microsoft Word and e‑mail messaging, and an all‑around general knowledge of computer operations is advantageous.
  • Consistently follows established safety procedures.
  • Inspires open communication and fosters team commitment.

  • Ability to explain the theory of operations of plant electrical component motors.
  • Ability to perform special soldering.
  • Understands basic formulas of electricity.
  • Explains the basic electrical layout.
  • Understands basic circuit elements (source, ground, resistor, capacitor).
  • Understands BOMs (Folder/Process).

moving mechanical parts, high pressure oil systems, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Responsibilities
  • Complies and participates in company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
  • Performs all duties of the Electrical Technician 1.
  • Measures and records technical data as tasks are completed.
  • Tests equipment according to testing specifications and records results in test book.
  • Schedules and organizes work tasks of subordinates (level one tech).
  • Assists higher level electricians in the assembly process with the assistance from drawings and schematics.
  • Assists in activities such as parts fitting, bolting, connecting, threading, aligning, calibrating, grinding, crimping, and inspecting.
  • Initials changes through approved mechanisms and reports changes.
  • Tracks changes and reports changes.
  • Inspects all equipment used and performs preventive maintenance checks and services.
