Overview

As a Respiratory Therapist at CHI Williston Health, you’ll join an established team of RTs who share your passion in caring for patients experiencing breathing issues. Our Respiratory Therapists provide specialized cardiopulmonary care including breathing techniques, ventilator management, nebulizer treatment, oxygen therapies, external ventilation support and some pulmonary function assessments. Your success in this role comes from a blend of keen assessment skills and a sense of urgency.

• Performs assessment of patient’s health and continuously monitors; detect changes in symptoms, and take action as necessary; and quickly and accurately assess patient care needs
• Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
• Administers therapy modalities which include Handheld Nebulize (HHN), HHN via metered dose inhaler (HHN/MDI), Intrapulmonary Percussive Ventilation (IPV), Chest Physical Therapy (CPT), and Pentamidine therapy
• Administers medical gas therapy including oxygen and Helium-Oxygen Therapy (HeO2)
• Performs ventilation therapies, including maintenance and management of life support systems
• Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
• Maintains order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the department
• Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies
• Utilizes resources appropriately and follows facility guidelines, policies, and procedures
