Wellsite Geologist

The Wellsite Geologist is responsible for providing real-time geological evaluation during drilling operations to ensure accurate well placement, reservoir characterization, and drilling efficiency. The role supports drilling, geosteering, and subsurface teams by interpreting formation data and advising operational decisions at the rig site.

• Monitor drilling operations and evaluate formations in real time
• Describe and analyze drill cuttings and formation samples
• Interpret mud logs, gas readings, and lithology
• Correlate well data with offset wells and geological models
• Support geosteering decisions in horizontal and deviated wells
• Communicate geological findings to:
  • Drilling Engineers
  • Directional Drillers
  • Reservoir & Subsurface Teams
• Identify formation tops, faults, and reservoir boundaries
• Advise on casing points, coring intervals, and logging programs
• Prepare daily geological reports and end-of-well summaries
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and company procedures

• 2–5+ years of wellsite or operational geology experience
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Sedimentology & stratigraphy
  • Mud logging and wireline/LWD data
  • Geosteering tools and software
  • Experience in shale, conventional, or offshore environments
• Strong decision‑making skills under time‑critical conditions

Onshore and offshore drilling rigs. Rotational schedules (14/14, 21/21, 28/28).
