Job SummaryWBSD7 is seeking an enthusiastic Pre-Kindergarten (PK) teacher/Coordinator to guide a classroom of young children in a variety of educational activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching fundamental concepts needed for kindergarten and working effectively in a classroom structure. Top candidates will have a creative mindset and good classroom management skills, be able to plan and execute lessons, and achieve the desired learning outcomes.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Teach children about core concepts using creative, hands-on methods of learning
- Plan lessons following both the ND Early Education standards and correlate to WBSD7 Kindergarten requirements.
- Encourage and monitor social interactions between children.
- Establish behavior expectations; observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions.
- Supervising children outside of class time: entering and exiting the building before and after school, during lunch, out on the playground, or on field trips. Setting up the materials and work spaces required for class activities.
- Communicate with parents, coordinate teacher/parent meetings as needed
- Assess students' learning using provided assessment materials.
- Keep accurate records and log information into the student information program (Power School).
- Create and maintain student behavior plan files as needed
- Work with cafeteria staff to provide lunch for all students in the classroom. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Directly supervises PreK classroom teachers and paraprofessionals.
- Provides ongoing instructional support, coaching, and mentorship.
- Conducts and completes all required staff evaluations, including formal observations and performance reviews.
- Supports professional growth through feedback, goal setting, and professional development.
- Ensures staff compliance with ND licensing, district policies, and Best-in-Class PreK expectations.
- Assists with onboarding, training, and support of new PreK staff.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to ND Best-in-Class PreK standards and continuous program improvement.
