We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to provide essential 24-hour coverage at a rural Critical Access Hospital in Williston, North Dakota. Responsibilities/ What you will do
Provide 24-hour emergency coverage at a rural Critical Access Hospital. Contribute to high-quality patient care in a busy ER environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuous emergency services.
Qualifications- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (EM)
- Valid License to Practice Medicine in North Dakota
- Proven experience managing diverse ER cases, including trauma and stroke
- Proficiency in emergency procedures and protocols
- Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Experience working in rural or community hospitals
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR system
- Previous locum or temporary staffing experience
- Ability to adapt to varied shift schedules and settings
- MD or DO degree from accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of ER or emergency medicine practice
- Prior experience in a hospital with similar patient volumes (50-60 cases daily) preferred
- 30-day credentialing process; no prior credentialing with other facilities necessary
- Willingness to work varied 12-hour shifts (6 am–6 pm and 6 pm–6 am)
- Support staff includes APPs and nursing personnel
- Malpractice insurance must be included in hourly rates
- Orientation provided at half the hourly rate after 8 hours; additional training at $360 per 12-hour shift
- Holiday shifts compensated at 1.5 times regular rates
- Valid DEA registration and certifications as required
