DescriptionAbout the Position
The primary function of the Inventory and Warehouse Coordinator is to process stock material requests, either system-generated or in-person counter requests, from various CWF or CWC staff for warehouse stock items and to fulfill such requests by pulling stock from its assigned storage bins or locations and turning it over to the requester. In connection with the above, they perform or assist in receiving, sorting and storing new inventory, taking such steps as may be required for inventory control, all of which is done using computerized inventory and bar-coding systems.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Creates or assists in creating system-generated material requests for stock inventory on behalf of internal warehouse customers.
- Staffs the warehouse counter and processes in-person material requests, including selecting stock from storage areas and recording itemized transactions using bar-code scanners.
- Assists internal employees who require in-person support with generating or fulfilling material requests.
- Loads and unloads trucks with inventory items received from suppliers or requisitioned by internal departments.
- Completes required documentation to maintain accurate inventory control records.
- Operates forklifts (up to 5,000-pound lifting capacity), pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment on smooth or paved surfaces.
- Operates a cargo van to deliver requisitioned materials to internal locations.
- Participates in physical inventory counts and stock reconciliation activities.
This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor.

RequiredEducation and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to drive small- or medium-sized trucks.
- Must be able to obtain an internal certification as a forklift operator within thirty days of being hired.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
- Must possess a valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record based on The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s criteria.
- Must be able to provide a 5-year Motor Vehicle Record prior to employment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- May not have more than 1 moving violation or at-fault accident within 12 months.
- May not have more than 2 moving violations or at-fault accidents within 36 months.
- May not have any serious motor vehicle violations including but not limited to excessive speeding, reckless driving, DUI/DWI, suspended or revoked license, etc.
- Experience with inventory control processes, including tracking, reconciliation, and stock management.
- Experience with inventory warehouse management software.
- Experience working in a warehouse inventory environment including operating a small forklift of approximately 5,000-pound capacity.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required for the position.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English sufficient to understand job-related instructions and communicate with internal customers.
- This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
- The ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds is required; heavier items may require team lifting or mechanical assistance.
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment and may involve exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
- The role may require the use of pallet jacks, hand trucks, ladders, and other material-handling equipment.
40 hours per week, M-F, FT
