Contract Details- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 3 months with possible extension
- Start: As Soon As Possible
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Overtime as needed; on-call for emergencies only)
This role is based at a full industrial site and is physically demanding. Candidates must be comfortable walking up and down stairs throughout the day and working independently. Full safety gear is required and provided, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and cut-resistant gloves.
About the RoleAs a Building Engineer
, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing building system operations and the performance of multiple facility areas, including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and focuses on preventive maintenance, system reliability, and safe operations.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire/life safety, and control systems
- Ensure building systems meet applicable standards, codes, and safety regulations
- Assist with and execute preventive maintenance programs
- Perform emergency repairs as needed
- Maintain energy management practices to ensure efficient system operation
- Follow policies for safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials
- Conduct inspections of fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing systems
- Apply technical knowledge to resolve complex maintenance issues
- Work independently while supporting broader facility operations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic electrical skills
- Basic plumbing skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Comfortable working at heights and accessing rooftops
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs. or more and perform physical tasks (standing, climbing, stooping)
- Forklift experience
- HVAC experience
- Dock door experience
- Leveler experience
- Universal CFC certification
- Experience Level: Open to all experience levels
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required
- Trade school preferred but not required
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Prior shift leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Basic computer skills
- Tablet usage
- Email and communication tools
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
