The Virginia Beer Company is opening our second location, The Kitchen, at 7120 George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown. We are seeking energetic line cooks to work collaboratively in this new space. The Kitchen is a brewpub-in-planning expected to open late January 2026.
Role Responsibilities- Execute menu consistently according to Kitchen Manager’s specifications
- Assist with stocking and setting up stations on the line
- Prepare food, including washing, cutting, and cooking ingredients
- Cook and plate menu items
- Maintain health code standards
- Clean and put away utensils and station items at end of shift
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings
- Act as a positive community representative for VBC — in person and online
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds with no assistance
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety standards
- Proficiency in menu planning and meal assembly
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with culinary tools and equipment
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience within the food industry preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team
- At least 2 years of experience working in a kitchen preferred
- At least 2 years of experience in a high volume line cook position preferred
- Positive attitude, punctuality, and the willingness to learn
- Must be able to effectively communicate and take direction from supervisors and management
- Ability to understand and follow recipes and plating to maintain consistency
- Must adhere to standards of quality and cleanliness
- Must possess a strong attention to detail
- Open availability including nights and weekends
- Must be 18 years of age or older

~ Fast start once doors open. Passionate about food service and building welcoming space. Role requires flexibility during hiring, training, opening. Need nimble staff.
