Job Summary
The Rigid Forming Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining thermoforming equipment in a manufacturing environment, ensuring product quality meets customer specifications while following safety protocols and production standards.
Hours:
7am to 3pm. Additional $2.50/hr premium added to salary for work between 7pm-7am; any hours worked outside that window will not receive the premium.
- Set up and operate equipment (thermoformers, vacuum lifts, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Capable of operating multiple thermoforming lines simultaneously.
- Identify machine issues and quickly troubleshoot to resolve malfunctions.
- Monitor and document product quality by auditing process parameters, taking measurements, and analyzing quality data.
- Perform basic operator Preventative Maintenance (PM) to avoid shutdowns.
- Maintain product quality through process audits, measurements, and visual inspections, analyzing data and responding to defects.
- Enter and analyze product quality data to determine if product is within control and specification.
- Read and follow production schematics to produce products in line with design and manufacturing standards.
- Execute Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
- Obtain Forklift/Material Handler certification.
- Maintain compliance with food safety and GMP.
- Use computer systems such as Microsoft Office and inventory managing software.
- Communicate closely with online product inspectors when needed.
- Foster an environment focused on safety.
- High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Stable work history.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Previous experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts preferred.
- Previous experience using industry standard tools (pneumatic and electrical).
- Previous experience with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency including email.
- Accurate use of measuring tools.
- Read and follow production schematics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Time management.
- Mathematics and measurement skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand and lift materials.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass pre-employment assessments.
- Drug screening required.
- Background check required.
- Basic understanding of thermoforming processes and equipment.
- Equipment operation, basic maintenance and cleaning.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Understanding of quality control procedures and specifications.
- Knowledge of PRISM or similar manufacturing software systems.
- Basic mathematical concepts and measurements.
- Strong time management capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and understand product specifications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to: capability to lift and move up to 65 pounds, ability to climb, kneel, bend, and squash, proficiency in grasping, influencing, pulling, and fine motor skills, ability to climb ladders safely, capacity to stand and walk for extended periods, ability to wear required PPE, and forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift and motorized pallet jack certification.

Travel is not required in this position.
Work ConditionsThe majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with possible exposure to noise levels above 85 dB, operation of complex machinery, solvents and fumes within the plant, variable temperatures, the ability to work flexible shifts, and may require nights, weekends, and holidays.
