CTR Group is currently seeking a MAINTENANCE SHOP PAINTER for a Government Site in the Williamsburg, VA area.

PAY RANGE: $21.70 - $26.79 per hour.

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Shop Painter will paint metal machinery, fiberglass, plastics, wood and other materials. Work involves the following:

• Knowledge of surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications.
• Preparing surface for painting by removing old finish and applying paint with spray gun or brush.
• May mix paint ingredients to obtain proper color or consistency.
• Follows all OSHA and other safety procedures related to using and handling and disposing of paint and painting work material.
• Keeps tools and work area clean and in proper working order.
• Occasionally operates vehicles to move tools, materials, and equipment to or from work site.
• Occasionally may operate small boats and other marine equipment using general seamanship and related marine skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• The work of the maintenance painter requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in painting of marine equipment and boats with marine coatings on various types of surfaces including steel, aluminum, and fiberglass.
• Spray Painting experience.
• Knowledge about applicable safety procedures.
• Will be required to handle weights up to 100 pounds, average of 50 pounds.
