Equipment Manager

Respected heavy civil construction firm seeking an experienced maintenance professional to join their growing team.

This position is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of heavy equipment maintenance and repair to ensure safe and efficient operation with minimal downtime.

• Manage and direct effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs and equipment utilization.
• Communicate daily with General Superintendent to plan short and long range equipment needs.
• Schedule and plan the maintenance of equipment as required.
• Schedule all work and assign to maintenance mechanics.
• Communicates regularly with all maintenance mechanics to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
• Reviews the operation of equipment and systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Communicate and collaborate with managers of other regions regarding equipment needs and issues.
• Ensures that maintenance mechanics are adequately trained and equipped so that the shop can operate in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner
• Maintain all equipment files including inventory, repair and maintenance, etc.
• Communicate with equipment dealers and manufacturers as needed.
• Ensure employees observe the company’s safety standards in accordance with OSHA and state regulations.

• 5+ years experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• 5+ years experience as a supervisor or manager
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Possess a positive TEAM oriented attitude
• Must be a self starter in a fast paced environment
