Position Summary
The Offshore IT Specialist is responsible for applying a working knowledge of computer and navigation skills to maintain, operate, assess and troubleshoot shipboard systems on shore and y support both logistical movements, and integration and testing of survey gear, and security of IT operations. The Offshore IT Specialist will be required to interact with shipyard personnel, port engineering staff, and equipment vendors in support of mobilizations.
Additionally, the Offshore IT Specialist will assist with all functions associated with the role of ship site security, including but not limited to personnel, physical, operations, technical and communications security disciplines.
Duties And Responsibilities
* Assist the cybersecurity team in ensuring compliance with information systems security requirements and authorizations, particularly as regards survey systems and interface with customer IT counterparts to facilitate system approvals.
* Assist in managing Survey Systems onboard vessels to include management of authority to operate and information assurance, requirements. Help to develop survey system upgrades and certify with cognizant authorities for Authority to Operate, to include non-organic survey systems on vessels of opportunity.
* Support software management for survey systems and projector operations, to include license purchase, update, and assess information assurance impacts.
* Support ship mobilizations as required for survey gear, projectors and other equipment as required.
* Support Shore Manger with logistical planning and packaging of survey equipment.
* Provide offshore technical solutions, support, and necessary repairs to survey hardware and software.
* Assist in planning warehouse resources and activities in keeping with operation objectives and targets.
* Assist in receiving, pulling, and shipping or issuing material.
* Ensure that workplace's health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the proper storage and security of the warehouse building and material.
* Work with established IT infrastructure and support various Cyber/IT requirements the company may have.
* Responsible for the positive control of all accountable items as relates to survey system employment. Provide secure movement of all accountable items.
* Track and maintain the chain of custody on all accountable packages, parcels, and equipment being transported in support of contract requirements as relates to shipboard electronics.
* Support preparation and development of materials to support ship security audits as required.
* Support general security education program and ensure all ship personnel comply with regulatory training requirements as relates to network and electronic security and data management and on survey systems.
* Support escorting responsibilities as required. Ensure uncleared personnel / technicians are always monitored and sign appropriate visitor logs.
* Support security patrols / end-of-day checks in accordance with the ships standard operating procedures. Be familiar with administrative forms utilized for physical security to include use of SF701, SF702 and Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs).
* Assist in the investigation of security incidents as required.
* Serve as a designated courier for the company's various Special Programs and DoD Contract, both CONUS and OCONUS if required.
* Support preparations of shipboard modifications to include construction contractor interface and implementation of Construction
