Reliability Specialist-Electrical/Infrared Thermographer
This position will consult internally as well as with external clients, vendors, and consultants as it relates to successful delivery of our Reliability Consulting and PdM services. Specifically, this position is responsible for performing and supporting on-site predictive maintenance (PdM) inspections utilizing predictive maintenance tools (i.e. Ultrasonic Testing/Leak Detection, Vibration Analysis, Oil Sampling, and Infrared) as well as providing CMMS consulting field support.
Additionally, this position supports the development of reliability programs associated with steam, compressed air/gas, valve inspections, vibration analysis and oil analysis within industrial and commercial property settings. Successful candidates will possess a strong ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of components and system related issues through demonstrated problem solving skills.
Compensation will be negotiated based upon qualifications. Contractor, part-time hourly and full-time salary positions are available.
- Perform on-site PdM inspections using a working knowledge / experience of utility, production and system processes.
- Perform equipment field verification and data collection which may require climbing and long periods of walking
- Support the development and verification of equipment Bill of Materials.
- Troubleshoot and provide insight for corrective action utilizing problem-solving root cause analysis skills.
- Evaluate equipment for the application of other PdM technologies.
- Provide assistance to project managers for documentation generation, quality control and on-time delivery.
- Support and maintain a strong team centered on communication and continuous improvement.
- Reports directly to the Director of Operations.
- Reports and interacts with Project Manager(s) on assigned projects.
- Responsible for the implementation, execution and final report development of assigned projects.
- Able and willing to work on-call and off shift as required by clients or management.
- Able to travel regionally and nationally.
- Associates degree in Industrial or Maintenance Technology AND at least two (2) years of maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment OR at least five (5) years of maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment Minimum of two (2) years direct PdM experience and Management experience.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to prepare reports, and technical papers with a proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiar with CMMS-EAM operating systems and maintenance workflow processes
- Must be highly detailed oriented and complete work with accuracy.
- Ability to problem solve utilizing root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of industrial electricity including single-phase and three-phase power, motors, protective devices and/or photo sensors.
- Knowledge of plant maintenance work order systems and processes.
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and how they can be applied to our service offerings and deliverables.
- Experience in maintenance planning and proficiency using predictive maintenance tools.
- Minimum Tradesman’s Journeyman Electrical Certification. Masters Certification preferred. Certification in Level I Infrared Thermography (or equivalent) is preferred/required.
- Working knowledge of other condition monitoring technologies including ultrasonic, vibration and oil analysis would be preferred.
