EHS Officer

CEL is an Irish based 40‑year manufacturer, distributor and exporter of electrical switch gear and controls that now focuses on supplying the global data centre industry. Operations are based in a 400,000 ft² facility in Williamsburg, Virginia, with a growth target to double each year over the next three years.

Reporting to the QEHS Manager, the EHS Officer will ensure compliance with all US regulations, continually improve our environmental, health and safety systems, and foster a strong safety culture across all operations, including the manufacturing facility and our site installation programmes for data‑centre clients.

• Compliance & Regulatory Management:
  Ensure adherence to local and international EHS regulations, maintain audit‑ready system documentation, participate in customer/regulatory audits, and ensure all personnel understand OSHA requirements.
• Risk Assessment & Hazard Control:
  Conduct regular risk assessments for office, assembly, testing and installation environments; implement controls, training for arc‑flash and general assembly hazards.
• Incident Management & Reporting:
  Investigate accidents, near‑misses; provide corrective actions; maintain KPIs and prepare internal/external reports.
• Training & Awareness:
  Promote safety culture, deliver EHS training, conduct toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
• Environmental Management:
  Monitor waste disposal, recycling, emissions compliance; support sustainability initiatives and ISO 14001/45001 certification processes.

• Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
• Professional certifications (NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) preferred.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in electrical, automotive, aerospace or medical devices industries.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1970, ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and electrical safety standards (IEC, NFPA 70E).
• Excellent communication, influencing and data‑analysis skills.
• Ability to travel domestically for site audits.

Location:

Williamsburg, VA.
Salary: $96,000 – $137,180 per year.
