Food Service Worker – Sam’s Club – Wilkes Barre, PA

Base pay: $17.00/hr – $24.00/hr

You will make an impact by:

  • Ensuring high‑quality products are fresh, ready, and available in the café
  • Ensuring shelves are clean, maintaining temperature control, verifying expiration dates, and disposing of lesser‑quality food products
  • Packing ready‑to‑sell products in proper containers and stocking displays
  • Preparing and serving ready‑to‑eat food
  • Maintaining a clean, sanitized, and member‑ready area

What you’ll do:

  • Be a Team Member: maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food merchandise; collaborate with cross‑functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks and resources; communicate effectively with the team; and be flexible to the needs of the business to work in other areas.
  • Be an Expert: prepare food according to item specifications; understand and plan future productions and mass productions; prepare for seasonality; adhere to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, inventory management; operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment; and demonstrate an understanding of product and layout execution.
  • Be a Techie: leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; utilize handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, ordering merchandise, receiving club pick‑up orders, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  • Be an Owner: drive the performance of the area; stock and rotate merchandise; ensure quality and date control standards; eliminate waste; provide member service by acknowledging the member and identifying member's needs; assist members with purchasing decisions; payment types; locate merchandise; and resolve member issues and concerns.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador: be a brand advocate; develop, influence and inspire others for working in a style that is respectful, supportive and team‑oriented; understand roadblocks and assist in training them.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; and apply these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; identify priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carry out tasks; communicate progress and information; determine and recommend ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapt to and learn from change, difficulties, and feedback.
