Overview
Geisinger Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with the physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service.
- Demonstrate autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
- Manage and assist in the smooth, efficient operations of the inpatient cardiology patient, outpatient cardiology clinic, cardiac labs and outreach cardiology clinics.
- Order testing as deemed necessary and remain proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication regimen within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner.
Enjoy outpatient clinic work while collaborating with regional colleagues.
QualificationsNurse Practitioner candidate will work in collaboration with the physician and have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification that allows the NP to work with the patient populations and location settings associated with this position. Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA.
Physician Assistant must be a graduate of an ARC-approved physician assistant program, eligible or certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants and eligible or certified by the State Board of Medicine.
Education & ExperienceEducation:
Master Degree - Nurse Practitioner (Required).
Experience:
Certification(s) and License(s):
Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners;
Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN;
Basic Life Support Certification.
