Front Desk Clerk

Position starts at $13.00/HR

Job Duties
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, acknowledge all guests, regardless of time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of: hotel features/services, hours of operation, room rates, special packages, daily house count, expected arrivals/departures, scheduled daily group activities.
  • Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies; keep bank secure at all times.
  • Answer department telephone, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette.
  • Process all guest check-ins, verify registration card information, obtain back-up information for credit/payment method and input into system; collect cash when designated.
  • Direct Bell Person to escort guest and transport luggage to room.
  • Handle overbooked or "walked" guests.
  • Accept and record wake-up call requests.
  • Monitor, send and distribute guest faxes.
  • Communicate pertinent guest information to designated departments (special requests, amenity delivery).
  • Resolve discrepancies on room status report with Housekeeping.
  • Match bucket check to in-house guest ledger report; report discrepancies to supervisor/manager.
  • Process all check-outs; process adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, miscellaneous charges.
  • Process Players Club applications and issue Players Cards to interested guests.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Promote superior guest service.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to compute basic arithmetic.
  • Provide excellent guest service and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to input and access information in the property management system/computers/point of sales system.
  • Some college or training in hospitality industry.
  • Previous experience as Front Desk Clerk.
  • Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, holidays and flexible hours.
  • Must be able to withstand prolonged standing.
