Overview
GENERAL
SUMMARY:
Under the overall supervision of the Rehab Director, the Physical Therapist Assistant administers physical therapy treatments under the direct, on premise supervision of the Physical Therapist, in compliance with state law governing the practice of Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of PA.
- Administers physical therapy treatments under the direct, on premise supervision of the Physical Therapist, in compliance with state law governing the practice of Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of PA.
- Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (adolescent through geriatric); demonstrate knowledge of growth and development over the life span; assess data reflective of the patient’s status; interpret information needed to identify age-specific needs; and provide the care described in the Physical Therapy Department’s policies and procedures.
- Graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant Program approved in the year of graduation by the American Physical Therapy Association.
- New graduate acceptable.
- One (1) to two (2) years Physical Therapist Assistant experience preferred.
- Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check.
- Must be licensed as a PTA in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Excellent communication skills required for effective communication with management, staff, patients, and visitors.
- Must attain and maintain certification of CPR.
- Medium Work: duties require exerting 25 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally (approx 10-33% of shift), and/or 10-25 lbs. of force frequently (approx 33-66% of the time), and/or greater than negligible amount up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects.
- Position involves bending, reaching, and stooping (occasionally in strained position) throughout shift.
- Ability to transport self throughout facility is required.
- Occasional exposure to blood and body substances.
- Well-lit office, gym, and PT care areas.
