Verdantas is seeking a Civil Project Manager in our Wilkes-Barre, PA office to support civil/site and land development projects from concept through delivery. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who enjoys blending project coordination + client service + technical civil engineering support, while developing toward full project management ownership with mentorship.
What You'll Do:
You will support project delivery and progressively take on project management responsibilities, including:
- Support planning, scheduling, and day-to-day coordination of civil and environmental projects to help ensure on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery.
- Assist with internal and external meetings including attendance, preparation, action tracking, and project documentation (scope, schedules, status updates).
- Coordinate with internal multi-disciplinary teams and subconsultants to meet milestones and deliverables.
- Ability to travel to support field services including but not limited to constructability walkdowns, environmental delineations, geotechnical, inspections, etc.
- Support and review technical work associated with land/site development, including site planning/layout, grading/earthwork concepts, stormwater management, conveyance, and erosion & sediment control.
- Assist with preparation of construction plans for agency/municipal review and help complete/submit land development permit applications.
- Participate in municipal/agency coordination and attend meetings as needed with officials, engineers, developers, and contractors.
- Support scope development and proposal/pursuit tasks (draft scopes, gather inputs, assist fee/budget setup).
- Assist with tracking budgets and forecasting; maintain accurate project records and support reporting needs.
- Learn and apply core PM practices across the lifecycle (risk, quality, health & safety, financial performance, and change management).
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or closely related) from anABET-accredited program (or equivalent experience).
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a consulting environment.
- 3-6 years working in Civil/Environmental consulting
- Familiarity with civil/site design fundamentals (grading, stormwater, permitting workflow exposure through coursework, internships, or early career experience)
- Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D a plus).
- Exposure to stormwater tools (e.g., Hydro
CAD/SSA or similar) and/or GIS is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites/meetings as needed.
The starting salary for this position is $92,000, with final compensation determined based on qualifications, experience, and licensing status.
