Overview
Geisinger is currently seeking a board-certified Pulmonary and Critical Care physician in practice with a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience. Leadership education training is preferred. Experience with quality initiatives programs, program development and a mission-oriented vision will be expected for this leadership role.
Responsibilities- Lead the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Departments at Geisinger Wyoming Valley with a focus on recruitment, program development, best practice alignment, and site-specific innovation.
- Oversight of the intensive care unit at GWV as the medical director, including quality reviews, coordination with PI for reports, coordination with patient safety for reports, collaboration with nursing, pharmacy, RT, and management of the critical care committee; oversee responses for infection control issues, quality issues, regulatory compliance and DOH.
- Oversight of the pulmonary and critical care staff at GWV; the faculty at GWV will report to this position. Responsibilities include performance evaluations, quality assessment of staff, and input for OPPE.
- Position reports to the Chair of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine – (Required)
- Experience: Leadership experience (minimum 3 years) and leadership education training preferred
- Certification and License: Licensed Medical Doctor – State of Pennsylvania
