In this job, you’ll support the regulatory requirements of SCE’s electrical distribution system by developing and designing plans, identifying necessary resources, providing cost estimates and options for the construction of distribution facilities. Also, you will interact with a diverse customer base on meeting electrical design needs and be responsible for providing successful outcomes for the customer and SCE on assigned or requested projects.

- Responsible for engineering and design in relation to SCE Telecomm Facilities. Provides information and data regarding future growth and budgetary planning.
- Develops cost estimates and prepares work orders or construction plans on major projects, several smaller projects, and issuing construction packages to the system for construction.
- Handles permitting, environmental requirements, compliance, and construction activities inclusive of Traffic Control/Pedestrian Control, Encroachment, Street use, Excavation, Railroad, Flood Control, CHP, Caltrans, BLM, National Forest, and all associated stakeholders (i.e. TYCC OCC including Caiso and ISO).
- Leads, monitors and follows up on construction activities and outages inclusive of standards and safe work practices related to overhead and underground construction safety.
- Supports operational emergencies and dispatches crews and resources to restore services as needed.
- Maintains a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
- Three or more years of experience in Electrical Utility Distribution/Transmission/Telecommunication Design, Distribution/Transmission/Telecommunication Line Construction, or Engineering discipline.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver’s License.
- Experience working in the electric utility industry.
- Experience with engineering principles, construction standards, and industry practices.
- Experience using database systems for planning, ordering materials and scheduling work orders.
- Experience using tariffs, resource books, determining scope of work, method of service, and construction methods for overhead and underground facilities.
- Experience preparing work orders or construction plans on projects.
- Ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, management, and other work units.
- Willing and able to drive, traverse on uneven surfaces, occasionally lift up to 40 lbs, sit/stand for extended periods of time, work in various weather conditions and possibly be in remote regions (desert and mountain).
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

- The primary work location for this position is the Wildomar Service Center. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at alternate work location.
